Why do Scannabables adopt both QR and NFC?
- As a premium product, Scannables feature both QR (for scanning) and NFC (for tapping) to maximise interactivity and cater to a wider audience, providing a seamless experience for users regardless of their device. .
- QR codes can be scanned by nearly any smartphone camera while NFC requires a specific NFC-enabled device, allowing users with different phone capabilities to access product information easily; essentially, using both technologies ensures a more inclusive user experience.
Wider reach:
QR codes are universally familiar and accessible since most smartphones can scan them. NFC functionality is a little more limited to devices with NFC capabilities that are switched on or off.
QR codes are better for longer-range scanning, like on posters, while NFC is ideal for close-proximity interactions like packaging and lost & found products.
